Are you one of the lucky ones to escape the dreaded cough and cold this winter? No, well I have just the remedy to soothe your aches, pains and sore throats – and make you feel good. All with pure natural ingredients that research has proved to make a real difference to you.
It’s so easy to keep buying the cough mixtures, popping the paracetamols and reaching for the next expensive wonder-cure for that miserable condition we call the common cold. Here’s a better way, and if you’ve not tried these essential oil remedies before – you’re in for a real treat.
Banish A Sore Throat with Sandalwood Essential Oil
A Sandalwood essential oil gargle is one of the best treatments for sore throats and laryngitis. Here’s the magic recipe:
1 tsp cider vinegar, 1 drop pure sandalwood essential oil, 1 drop lemon essential oil, 1 teacup warm water, 1/2 to 1 tsp clear honey
To make up the cure put the cider vinegar into a teacup, add the essential oils and stir well. Top up with warm water, then stir in the honey. Gargle until all of the liquid is used up, but do not swallow.
Easing Congestion and Reducing a Fever
Use this powerful aromatic vapour rub to reduce the symptoms of colds, coughs, fevers and flu. Try this today…
Adults and children over 10 years:
1/2 tbsp petroleum jelly, 8 drops pure sandalwood essential oil, 5 drops pure eucalyptus essential oil, 3 drops pure peppermint essential oil
The petroleum jelly acts as a barrier against skin absorption, so most of the aromatic vapour will be inhaled – and that’s the important part. Add the essential oils to the jelly and stir well. Rub a little onto the chest and throat 2-3 times a day… feels good.
A Perfect Blend for Chapped or Sore Skin
This soothing balm is good for both treating and preventing rashes, or for chapped or mildly irritated skin. Use after shaving or after being out in a biting wind:
15ml jojoba oil, 10ml diluted sandalwood oil, 1 drop pure frankincense oil, 1 drop pure geranium essential oil, 2 drops pure lavender essential oil
Mix the jojoba oil and sandalwood in a small dark glass bottle (you can get one from a chemists), then add the essential oils and shake well. Apply as necessary and you should start to feel the benefits almost immediately.
Make sure you try at least one of these great remedies out, because essential oils could be just what you’re looking for – they really do work wonders!
