What is Twitter?

Ahem, this is my take on it… Essentially it’s a social network come micro blog where you can keep in touch with friends, family, customers or colleagues and see what they’re doing right now. The length of your text message that you can send to the Twitter Network is limited to 140 characters and so it lends itself to updates from your mobile/cell phone particularly well.

Why Use Twitter?

For short concise updates as to what you’re doing right now – it really hits the mark. As you have only 140 characters to get your message across, it really does make you think that little bit more about getting to the point quickly. To be honest, having only been on Twitter a short time, I think a lot of people waste an incredible amount of time on it but used properly – it starts to get really interesting.
